Our theme for service-learning (SL) courses in AY2022-23 is “Give Me Five”: apart from signalling the fifth year the Centre for Innovative Service-Learning (CISL) offers SL opportunities for students to contribute to the community, our uplifting slogan is also a celebratory attempt to welcome you all back on track after a rejuvenating summertime. To better prepare colleagues for running SL, we are organising a face-to-face (finally!) mini-workshop for course instructors who are offering SL courses in Semester One. In this session, we will share tips and experience in smoothening the logistics and enhancing the pedagogical value of implementing SL into a course. Apart from course instructors who have already applied for our SL mini-grants, we also welcome teachers who have plans to do so in Semester Two or are interested to know more about SL at HKBU.
