Abstract

In this talk, a Service-Learning course designed to nurture liberal arts students to be aware and capable global problem solvers will be introduced. This course has been offered through varying delivery methods in three semesters, namely fully offline, completely online, and online-offline hybrid mode respectively. Findings challenge the oversimplified criticism on virtual learning from some experiential learning advocates. It’s argued that eService-Learning could be an effective way to cultivate the global problem-solving competence. Comparing the design and implementation of lectures, services, and reflection activities in three semesters, lessons and good practices will be analyzed and conceptualized.
