Introduction

Change is hard; but you don't know how far you can go until you take the first step to change. In this seminar, Ms Swing Lau, the founder of Home Care Apparel Company Limited, will share her journey from being a social worker to becoming a social entrepreneur. What drove her to make such a change? What challenges does she face when running a one-man band business? Are there any inspiring stories behind her designing adaptive clothing for the elderly and the disabled? Under Swing’s guidance, the participants will even learn to put themselves in the shoes of the elderly and the disabled, and try to design adaptive clothing on their own.

Home Care Apparel Company Limited is a social enterprise established in 2017 which designs and sells adaptive clothing made by local women and retirees. It also educates the public about the proper way of caring with a view to alleviating the inconvenience experienced by the elderly and the disabled as well as to reducing the burden imposed on caregivers.

Through a series of online seminars, TriAngle Co-working Space endeavours to inspire students with entrepreneurial and social innovation spirit. Speakers with different expertise and experiences will be brought together to empower students to grow into future social entrepreneurs.
