Abstract
Action Research is a systematic inquiry in which practitioners examine their own educational practice to advance teaching practice and improve students’ learning. In the academic year 2018 – 19, 11 action research projects have been launched to investigate important topics related to service-learning practice (e.g., impact of service-learning on students, sustainable partnership with community partners, and cross-disciplinary SL projects).
In this retreat, project holders of selected action research projects will share their experience and initial results and findings. Advisors from 4 collaborative institutions will provide feedback and advice on action research projects. This retreat will provide golden opportunities for participants to
1. share ideas and experience of conducting action research in service-learning courses
2. discover the ways how action research works to enhance teaching and learning quality in service-learning
3. establish connections with colleagues who are engaged in action research in service-learning
